Cycling through the Forest                                    back


Leaving the city you will drive to Dyrehaven (the Royal Deer Park), a large, lush forest just north of Copenhagen. Dyrehaven comprises of more than 1,000 acres with a variety of wildlife that includes stags, fallow deer and sika. In 1670, King Frederik III used the park as hunting grounds for his son, King ChristianV. The forest houses the Royal Hunting Palace, the Eremitage and the oldest amusement park in the world -Bakken, dating back to the 1580's. As you arrive through the red gates to the forest, your bikes will be waiting and your escort will ride with you through the forest area, passing the hunting palace. Enjoy the green scenery and the wildlife living in the forest.
